Demountable Rotary Magnet

Rotary magnets are designed to remove ferrous particles from product flows that tend to clog and bridge in stationary magnetic grates.
The unit rotates a number of powerful magnetic tubes while the product passes through. The magnetic action attracts and holds the unwanted ferrous particles, and the rotary action prevents the product from packing the process stream. The rotary action also breaks apart lumps and cohesive materials.
According to Nu-Con, the magnetic rotor is easily demountable from the housing without tools.
Nu-Con bills BFM fittings as “a revolution in flexible sleeves.” It says they are dust free even on vibrating equipment, do not require hose clips, and have sleeves that are abrasion resistant as well as being hygienic. Applications range from vibrating flexible sleeves, sight glasses, tapered hoppers, drop chutes, inspection caps and explosion joints.
Nu-Con says its demountable range has always allowed access for operators to clean out the valves without tools. With a new development of the base mounted Easyslide rail system, on display at BULKEX, the demountable shaft indicator and the rotor detection system make it easier for the operator to clean and service.
Nu-Con’s rotor detection system electronically monitors the rotor at all times, sending a warning signal to the operator or shutting down the system if there is contact between the rotor and the body of the valve. The system is designed to prevent the possibility of metal to metal contamination. When coupled with the new Bottom Mount Easyslide, Nu-Con says the system eliminates all rotor scraping.
