This paper examines the pumpability of high concentration thickener underflow slurries as measured by a rotary viscometer.
The process of disposing of coal washery thickener underflow material is usually by lean phase disposal systems. Disposal of the thickener underflow as a high concentration slurry makes economical and environmental sense in the areas of energy efficiency, water usage and land utilisation.
