ESS, which is a major supplier of conveyor cleaning and sealing equipment to the Australian bulk handling sector, sponsored the Australian Bulk Handling Awards of 2006, 2007, and 2008. It is sponsoring the Bulk Handling Facility of the Year (Resources and Infrastructure) category at the 2010 event.
“ESS is a mainstay of the bulk handling industry and a long term supporter of the Australian Bulk Handling Awards,” said Peter Delbridge, national sales manager, Australian Bulk Handling Review. “We are delighted to have the company involved again as a sponsor, and by confirming its participation early, ESS will maximize the benefits of its sponsorship.”
Bob Law, ESS’ charismatic leader, won the prestigious Australian Society for Bulk Solids Handling Award in 2002. In 2007, the firm won the Best Practice in OH&S award for its invention of the KeySafe tool which allows easier and safer changing of conveyor cleaner blades.
More recently, Bob was included in the list of ABHR’s Top 20 Bulk Handling Engineers in Australia, published in the September/ October 2009 edition of the magazine. The 2010 Australian Bulk Handling Awards are being held against the backdrop of more benevolent economic conditions than the 2009 event.
“The 2009 Awards took place in the aftermath of the Global Financial Crisis when there was a lot of caution and uncertainty,” said Peter Attwater, publisher of Australian Bulk Handling Review, organiser of the Australian Bulk Handling Awards. “With the economic environment improving, I think the conditions are right for the 2010 event to be even bigger and better.”
Besides ESS, sponsors of the Australian Bulk Handling Awards have included, since their inception in 2006, such companies as Laing O’Rourke, Tenova-SEMF, Takraf, Bonfiglioli, Sandvik, Connell Hatch, Atlas Copco, Aerobelt, Redispan, Kerman and Bulk Handling Australia.
“There are many different packages and options available to suit companies of all types and sizes,” said Peter Delbridge. “I’d urge them to get on board soon to capitalize on the advance publicity leading up to the Awards.”
The 2010 Awards are being held for the first time in Brisbane, after three years in Sydney and the inaugural event in Melbourne in 2006. The event will take place on Thursday 11th November, 2010 at the atmospheric and characterful Hillstone St Lucia, 20 minutes from the Brisbane CBD.
