Staminair Corporation of the Philippines, a manufacturer of material build-up removal products and services, will display at stand 95 at BULKEX its Vortex Blastair. The stand will be shared by Iteca, which will show its samplers.

Staminair dubs the Vortex Blastair “a revolutionary and reliable air cannon system” and a cost-effective solution for removing material build-up occurring in silos, hoppers, kilns, preheaters, cyclones, and other industrial machinery.

The company says that Vortex Blastair systems are available for use in the most demanding high and low temperature applications and environments in the cement, steel, power, chemical, incinerator, and fertiliser sectors, as well as any other industries with powdery and granular storage.

In practice, the Vortex Blastair can remove build-up and coating using plant air at 5 to 7 bar in two applications:

• at low temperatures in silos, hoppers and bins for sticky material – such as clay, limestone, gypsum, iron ore and coal – to assure constant flow.

• and at high temperatures in processes involving kiln preheaters, cement kilns, inlets, cyclones, riser ducts and coolers.

Staminair says that the Vortex Blastair’s average air consumption is moderate and depends on firing number per hours, size of pressure vessels, and the number of devices installed. For instance, a 50-litre Vortex will consume 0.60 Nm3/hour at 6 bars air pressure (90 PSI) with two firing per hour.

According to Staminair, the Vortex Blastair was designed with a view to operators avoiding harsh eroding or other manual cleaning methods. The device has a sturdy design, easy maintenance thanks to an accessible external T-shape valve and a reversible piston design that aids cost effectiveness.

Stand 95 will also display samplers from Iteca Socedai, and instrumentation including level detectors and sensors for silos and hoppers, clogging detectors under cooler grates and for conveying systems, as well as a robust underspeed detector.

Iteca also designs and markets truck loading spouts and trolleys with its products being used by major mineral producers worldwide.
