method (DEM) simulations and quantifying the “tuned” material model on a meso-scale conveyor impact transfer
station. Quantitative measurements and qualitative observations are provided to determine the accuracy of
the reaction forces and the bulk material trajectories between conventional continuum mechanics, DEM and
experimental data. The effects of scaling-up the material model in DEM simulations are evaluated to examine
possible procedures to optimise DEM simulations.</description> <dc:publisher>No publisher</dc:publisher> <dc:creator>Australian Bulk Handling Review</dc:creator> <dc:rights></dc:rights> <dc:subject>Technical Papers</dc:subject> <dc:date>2010-05-26T02:23:45Z</dc:date> <dc:type>News Item</dc:type> </item>

applications, highlights design considerations and shows the energy saving potential of modern drive systems.
In cases studies, a few demanding conveyor applications are described to illustrate the drives system selection and
system integration aspects. Finally, an innovative integrated control system solution for conveyors is shown that
allows faster and easier design and installation of conveyor VVVF drive systems.</description> <dc:publisher>No publisher</dc:publisher> <dc:creator>Markus Ahrens*, ABB Australia - Scott Southby*, ABB Australia</dc:creator> <dc:rights></dc:rights> <dc:subject>Technical Papers</dc:subject> <dc:date>2010-04-27T06:11:08Z</dc:date> <dc:type>News Item</dc:type> </item>
